Police appeal for information after woman stabbed during mugging in Sydney’s west

A woman was rushed to hospital after being attacked on a suburban street in the city’s west on Sunday night.

A woman was stabbed in the abdomen during an armed robbery in a suburban street in Sydney’s west on Sunday night.

The woman, 48, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being wounded as she walked along Bougainville Road at Lethbridge Park about 9pm.

Police have appealed for information to track down the culprit, who remains at large.

Officers have been told he confronted the woman near Copeland Road and demanded her bag before stabbing her during an altercation and fleeing the scene.

The woman called for help and was driven to Mount Druitt Hospital before being transferred to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, or the identity of the man, to come forward.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance with a thin build.
