Pilot survives scary crash that flipped plane in Essendon
A pilot is lucky to be alive after his light plane crashed and flipped onto its roof in an emergency landing.

A pilot has walked away after a frightening emergency landing ended with him hanging upside down in the cockpit.
Emergency services rushed to Essendon Airport just after 4pm on Wednesday after the light plane crashed.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the Cessna 172 Skyhawk plane flipped on its roof.
The aircraft had also left the runway and come to a stop on the grass nearby.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, had survived the crash.
“The pilot, and sole occupant of the vessel, was checked and cleared by Ambulance Victoria,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
