A truck fire in Sydney’s northern beaches has caused traffic chaos for motorists, after a major road was forced to close.
Mona Vale Rd was closed in both directions at Kimbriki Rd, between Terrey Hills and Ingleside, and emergency crews are on the scene.
The eastbound lane has since reopened but the west remains closed, with Live Traffic urging drivers to avoid the area.
“Traffic is heavy in both directions,” Live Traffic tweeted.
“Continue to use an alternative route and allow plenty of extra time.”
UPDATE: All eastbound lanes have reopened on Mona Vale Rd. All westbound lanes remain closed to light vehicles. Continue to allow extra time.
