Desperate search for missing mum, 4yo son in Labrador, Queensland

Police are desperately searching for a woman who disappeared from a Queensland home with her four-year-old son with no phone, car, or spare clothing.

Police have issued another desperate call out for a mother who disappeared with her young son, with the pair not being seen for nearly 48 hours.

Jessica Mostyn, 32, was last seen leaving a home in Labrador on the Gold Coast just before 5pm on Saturday with her four-year-old son.

The pair left on foot and have not been seen or heard from since.

Superintendent Geoff Sheldon said police are concerned for Ms Mostyn’s health as well as the “management of the child” and have urged anyone with information to contact police.

“She’s been seen on the Saturday and walked away with no goods, no clothing, nothing,” he said.

“She and the boy wandered off into the distance and haven’t been seen since.”

The pair are believed to be in or around the Labrador and Southport areas, “possibly in a park, shopping centre or other public area”.

Superintendent Sheldon added the pair are “probably being assisted by friends” in Brisbane, Tweed Heads or possibly Ballina.

Ms Mostyn does not have a car or a mobile phone, according to Detective Acting Inspector Greg Aubort.

“Jessica may be in a state that she’s elevated or upset,” he said.

“We don’t want her to be in a case where she feels the need to hide.”

Police confirmed Ms Mostyn had gone missing in January, however had returned home “safe and well less than 48 hours later”.

“There are occasions where people in good faith are trying to help, but they’re not even aware that someone is missing or reported missing,” Inspector Greg Aubort said.

Ms Mostyn is described as caucasian, 164cm tall with a shaved head and medium build.

She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with maroon trackpants.

Her son is described as caucasian with blonde hair and blue eyes.
