Melbourne’s public transport network has been caught up in the state’s latest positive virus case with two train services and three stations added to the COVID alerts list.

The state’s health department revealed the new additions to the growing list of 12 exposure sites late on Tuesday night.

The Melbourne man who tested positive to coronavirus, prompting the new alerts, had arrived in Australia from COVID-ravaged India and most likely caught the virus in hotel quarantine.

The man, aged in his 30s, completed hotel quarantine in South Australia after returning to Australia from India on April 19.

He returned to his Wollert home in Melbourne’s north on May 4 and developed symptoms four days later.

The state’s health department has launched a “full public health response”, including listing the new exposure sites.

The Craigieburn to Southern Cross train service on May 7 – departing 5.28pm and arriving 6.07pm – has been added as a tier 2 exposure site.

The Flinders Street to Craigieburn train service on May 7 – departing 10.20pm and arriving 11.05pm – is also a tier 2 site.

Anyone who was on either service in any carriage, and alighting and departing at any station, must get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.

Those who travelled around the same time but are unsure about which service they caught have been urged to get tested.

Flinders Street, Southern Cross and Craigieburn train stations have all been listed as tier 3 exposure sites.

Those who were at Flinders Street from 9.50pm to 10.50pm, Southern Cross from 6.07pm to 6.22pm and Craigieburn from 5.23pm to 5.28pm on May 7 should monitor for symptoms.
