The daughter of convicted murderer Chris Dawson and his first wife Lynette will appear in a rare television interview – the first time in four years she has spoken publicly.
Shanelle Dawson was just four years old when her father told her and younger sister Sherryn that their mother had run away because she didn’t love them.
Forty years later Dawson was convicted of Lyn’s murder.
Mostly estranged from her family now, Shanelle speaks to 60 Minutes in a rare television interview on Sunday.
Channel 9 has released a sneak preview of the interview on social media in which it teases never-before-heard details surrounding Lyn’s disappearance.
“I believe I saw him shining headlights on a spot near the pool and digging,” Shanelle told 60 Minutes.
Another clip teases that Dawson said something to his daughter that made her hold her tongue for the last four decades.
“Whatever he said or threatened me with kept me quiet for the next 40 years,” she said.

The 44-year-old lives in Hervey Bay, 290km north of Brisbane, and told the Gold Coast Bulletin in 2018 that she left the country in 2001 and 2003 when two separate coroners found that her father had murdered her mother.
“I feel a lot of anger and rage towards him,” she says in the 60 Minutes clip.
“He was manipulative and gaslighting us.”
She shared a post to her Facebook two days after her father was convicted of her mother’s murder.
“Thank you everyone for your loving & supportive messages, I wholeheartedly appreciate them & you all,” she said.
“I am in quiet integration. Thanks for the numerous friend requests, apologies but I don’t accept friend requests from people I don’t know.”
Lynette, 33, vanished from the family’s Bayview home in 1982 and her body has never been found.
At five, Shanelle reportedly told her grandmother that Lyn had just been their pretend mum for a little while.
Shanelle has reportedly remained close to her sister Sherryn despite her public defence of their father.
