Police are working to determine the identity of a body found inside a burnt-out campervan in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Fire crews were called to Dukes Oval on Lawson St at Emu Plains shortly after midnight on Tuesday to find the campervan completely engulfed in flames.
Crews managed to extinguish the blaze before a body was found inside.
Officers have since launched an investigation into what triggered the blaze, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the person’s identity and cause of death.
A crime scene has been established, and anyone with information is urged to contact Penrith police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
