Alleged conman Peter Foster back in court after months on the run

Alleged conman Peter Foster has landed back in a Queensland court after spending more than six months on the run in Victoria.

An alleged conman accused of peddling a multimillion-dollar bitcoin scam will remain behind bars on remand over Christmas after being extradited from Victoria.

Peter Foster was dramatically arrested by federal police at a regional Victorian property last week after months on the run.

Just a day after being marched handcuffed from Brisbane Airport and flanked by police, the 59-year-old fronted court on Monday.

Mr Foster has been charged with five counts of fraud, two counts of obtaining and dealing with identification information and one count of using a false record.

He did not apply for bail as his lawyer asked for an adjournment until January.

Mr Foster will remain behind bars on remand until his next court appearance on January 11, 2022.

AFP officers arrested Mr Foster in The Macedon Ranges in Victoria after months on the run.

Police allege in court documents Mr Foster dishonestly induced a man known as Konstantinos Stylianopolous to deliver digital currency and US currency bank credits to a company known as Sports Predictions Trading on multiple occasions between April 2019 and January 2020.

The frauds are alleged to have taken place on the Gold Coast.

It is further alleged Mr Foster dealt with the identification of two other men for the purpose of fraud.

Mr Foster is also alleged to have fraudulently used a series of videos he knew were fake.
