14-month-old dies after being hit by car in Bendigo

The 14-month-old was hit by a car driving along a slip lane in rural Victoria before dying from critical injuries in hospital.

A 14-month-old died after being hit by a car in Bendigo.

A 14-month-old has died after being hit by a car in Bendigo in rural Victoria on Wednesday night.

According to police, a car was travelling in the slip lane of High St, Kangaroo Flat about 7.30pm when it struck the 14-month-old.

The child suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital but later died.

The driver of the car, a 56-year-old man from Maiden Gully, stopped at the scene and is now assisting police with their investigation.

Victoria Police is urging anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage or any other information to contact them.
