On the issue of guy offensiveness, the ABC immediately falls into line:

'Guys' is not the only inappropriate phrase commonly directed at women in the workplace.

Diane Smith-Gander, president of women's advocacy group Chief Executive Women, told Fairfax Media she used the word 'guys' often at work, and "it is going to be a real problem for me ... it's a word I use all the time". She said the word had evolved into a non-discriminatory gender-neutral term. Nevertheless she said she supported his campaign.

We need to be careful about the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.
