Kyle Rittenhouse Wins

Following a two-week trial, four days of jury deliberations and more than a year of media lies, Kyle Rittenhouse has been acquitted on all charges arising from his self-defence shootings of three attackers in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

CNN reports, through gritted teeth:

Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who killed two people and shot another during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was acquitted Friday of first-degree intentional homicide and four other felony charges.

Rittenhouse, wearing a dark jacket with a burgundy tie and shirt, stood behind the defense table as each not guilty verdict was read. He tried to hold back tears, then sobbed and appeared to collapse forward on the table, where his lawyer embraced him.

Haters hoping for a prosecution appeal should abandon those hopes:

The panel of five men and seven women deliberated more than 25 hours over the past four days in a closely watched case that polarized an already divided nation. The verdict cannot be appealed

During their deliberations, jurors requested to rewatch much of the video evidence of the shootings. In the end, they agreed with Rittenhouse's testimony that he feared for his life and acted in self-defense.

Following media and activist intrusions during the trial, the jurors themselves learned a few things about fear. And about bravery.

The judge praised the jurors, saying he "couldn't have asked for a better jury."

He could’ve asked for a quicker one, but let’s not quibble at this point.

Rittenhouse attorney Mark Richards said outside court that his client was on his way home and "wants to get on with his life …"

"He wishes none of this would have ever happened. But, as he said when he testified, he did not start this and we're thankful in more ways than one that the jury finally got to hear the true story."

The truth came as a great surprise to a certain leftist.

The attorney said Rittenhouse has had 24-hour security and that he does not expect to continue to live in the area.

"I think eventually some anonymity will come," Richards said.

It might take a while.

After the verdict, lead prosecutor Thomas Binger told the court, "The jury has represented our community in this trial and has spoken."

Binger, in a statement, said, "While we are disappointed with the verdict, it must be respected ... We ask that members of our community continue to express their opinions and feelings about this verdict in a civil and peaceful manner."

This bloke ran such a poor prosecution that many suspected he was aiming for a mistrial. At one point he took aim at the jury.

The family of victim Anthony Huber said in a statement "there is no accountability for the person who murdered our son."

"It sends the unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence, and then use the danger they have created to justify shooting people in the street," the statement said of the verdict.

Their son turned up in town and began destroying property and attacking people.

President Joe Biden, in a statement, said the verdict "will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included …"

Biden called Rittenhouse a white supremacist. The rioters he shot were white.

Attorneys for victim Gaige Grosskreutz, who was wounded by the teen, and the estate of Joseph Rosenbaum said two people "did not deserve to die that night."

True. Child rapist Rosenbaum, especially, deserved to die years ago.

Rittenhouse fatally shot Rosenbaum – who was chasing the teenager and threw a bag at him – and then tried to flee. A crowd of people pursued the teenager, and Rittenhouse shot at an unidentified man who kicked him; fatally shot Huber, who had hit him with a skateboard; and wounded Grosskreutz, who was armed with a pistol.

That single paragraph sums up Rittenhouse’s successful defence. He was under attack.

UPDATE III. True on all levels:

UPDATE IV. Democrat Ayanna Pressley in 2020:

A 17 year old white supremacist domestic terrorist drove across state lines, armed with an AR 15.

He shot and killed 2 people who had assembled to affirm the value, dignity, and worth of Black lives.

Behold their affirmation of dignity and worth:

UPDATE IX:

President Joe Biden could face a civil defamation suit from newly-acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse for calling him a “white supremacist” last year — without evidence, and before Biden was able to enjoy the immunities of presidential office.

Rittenhouse was, by then, a “public figure” for the purposes of defamation law, and would have to show that any defendant acted with “actual malice” — that is, with reckless disregard for the truth. He could arguably do so for Biden’s false statement …

Typically, presidents are immune from civil lawsuits for torts alleged to have taken place during their time in office.

But as the infamous case of Paula Jones’s sexual harassment lawsuit against President Bill Clinton showed, presidents are not immune from suit for torts committed prior to their taking office

UPDATE X:

Perhaps the most persistent myth surrounding the case is the idea that Rittenhouse, then 17, brought an AR-15 across state lines [from Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin] …

The gun was already being stored at a friend's house in Kenosha, according to police records and court testimony.

Democrat Jerry Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, still believes the myth:

UPDATE XI:

A former New York Times reporter claims the newspaper held her story about the ravaging effects of the Kenosha riots on impoverished neighborhoods until after the 2020 elections.

Nellie Bowles went to the Wisconsin city to report on the racial justice riots in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in August 2020 …

Bowles said she was sent to report on the “mainstream liberal argument” that vandalizing buildings for racial justice was not detrimental because businesses had insurance.

“It turned out to be not true,” Bowles wrote.

“The part of Kenosha that people burned in the riots was the poor, multi-racial commercial district, full of small, underinsured cell phone shops and car lots. It was very sad to see and to hear from people who had suffered.”

Her story was filed – and then held for weeks, until the election was over.
