Jackboot Greta Gets it All Wrong
The United Nations has been witness to some crazy speeches over the years, but few quite so absurd and melodramatic as that delivered yesterday by teen climate queen Greta Thunberg.
The United Nations has been witness to some crazy speeches over the years, but few quite so absurd and melodramatic as that delivered yesterday by teen climate queen Greta Thunberg.
“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here,” Thunberg began. Unfortunately, these were Thunberg’s only accurate lines from her entire appearance.
“You have stolen my dreams, and my childhood, with your empty words,” the 16-year-old continued.
Given she’s now become a global celebrity who gets to sail around the world and address the UN, Greta’s stolen dreams must’ve been pretty lofty.
“People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing,” Thunberg went on, working herself into a state of ridiculous distress.
“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money.”
US President Donald Trump wasn’t falling for it:
She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! https://t.co/1tQG6QcVKO
