Garnaut's report based on humbug to support Gillard's lie

It has not been enough for Julia Gillard to go through an election on a lie, to maintain her fiction she now must rely on a report based on outright falsehoods.It is a painful but obvious truth that Gillard promised before the election that there would be no carbon tax under a government she led.She leads the government and she is now promising a carbon tax. That is the big lie in Australian politics today.

To support that lie she commissioned Professor Ross Garnaut, her chief climate adviser, to prepare a report on the introduction of her newly-promised carbon tax. His report has one huge black hole in the middle of it. It doesn’t address the issue of why a carbon tax is necessary. Global warming is falsely blamed by Gillard and her Green supporters on human production of carbon dioxide. Gillard is telling Australians that the carbon dioxide they produce is affecting the planet. Where is the proof, prime minister? Gillard says the science is beyond doubt but the only thing beyond doubt is the fact that neither Gillard nor her Climate Minister Greg Combet, or any other member of the Gillard government has the intellect or knowledge to debate any of the numerous qualified scientists who offer a different opinion. In fact, Gillard resorts to the bullying skills she no doubt learnt from the MUA on the waterfront when she was working actively to support unproductive work practises and attempts to mock those who have done their research and exposed the great global warming fraud. Garnaut’s position is simple. He assumes the lie is beyond questioning. He has prepared a political and economic report, not a scientific report. It is of no value to ordinary Australians except that it destroys another great fiction that Gillard and her disgraceful crew have been perpetrating – that the huge new carbon tax won’t affect ordinary Australians. That was one lie too many for Garnaut who points out the obvious. You cannot slug electricity producers with a new tax without a flow-one effect to every electricity user, that is, every Australian. Otherwise Garnaut is as out-of-touch with ordinary Australians as the Labor-Green government. He thinks a family on $80,000 can stand yet another tax. He is as removed from reality as the actress Carbon Cate Blanchett who worries about how she could look her kids in the eye if she didn’t front an advertisement paid for by a group of Left-wing activist organisations, most of which are bankrolled to some degree by the federal government under its cash-to-commenting-mates deal. If Gillard or Garnaut or Carbon Cate, for that matter, would do the decent thing and explain simply how paying more money for products, how killing more Australian businesses and putting more Australians out of work will alter the temperature of the planet there might be a skerrick of merit in their rubbish but they cannot. Gillard is after cash, Garnaut is grabbing cash and claiming some moral ascendancy, Carbon Cate is merely ignorant. Just as Gillard hopes we all will be as she attempts to rip us off and Balkanise the nation. (I blogged live this morning. An interesting experience which I may repeat.
