Defending the despicable

THE Greens, the refugee lobby and their media supporters are going to sickening lengths as they strive for the moral high ground.

Refugee Action Coalition spokesman Ian Rintoul is now claiming an Afghan who arrived illegally in Australia in 2010 and was subsequently convicted after committing six acts of indecency with a child under 16, and a further act of accessing child pornography, should not have had his protection visa withdrawn by then immigration minister Scott Morrison. The Afghan paedophile, Ali Jaffari, died after setting himself on fire on Wednesday at the Yongah Hill detention centre near Northam, WA. In an interview with Perth radio station 6PR, Rintoul said he did not know much about Jaffari or his record but was adamant he should not have been in detention. He is not isolated in his views. Greens Senator Sarah Hanson Young presented a series of anonymous submissions to a recent senate hearing into the Nauru detention centre ensuring extensive coverage on the ABC. The only witness who agreed to be identified could only provide hearsay evidence. The Greens have now asked for yet another inquiry into detention in both Nauru and PNG which would report in December, 2016. Taxpayers should make it clear that they aren’t prepared to give these luvvies a blank cheque to run a review for more than 12 months solely to garner publicity for their garbage in an election year.
