Senator Jim Molan: ‘Nobody wants another fight like Iraq’

FORMER Australian Army major general — and Liberal Senator — Jim Molan says he does not believe there is a military role in Syria for Australia “in any way, shape or form”.

“Nobody wants another fight like Iraq,” he said.

Senator Molan spoke to Miranda Live about the dangers involved in continued action in Syria against President Bashar Hafez al-Assad.

“I don’t think there is any intention for anyone in the west or for middle east nations surrounding Syria to attempt regime change, because we don’t know what we are getting ourselves into,” he said.

“I think that we should support diplomatically, and enthusiastically diplomatically, what the Americans, the Brits and the French are doing.”
