Sebastian Gorka: Trump has been ‘bad for Putin’
Former Deputy Assistant to Donald Trump has criticised Russia’s role in Syria and says every major policy decision of the US President has put pressure on Putin.
A FORMER Trump staffer claims that the US President has been “bad for Vladimir Putin”.
Former deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, Dr Sebastian Gorka, told MirandaLive that the confrontation in Syria was not just between America and Russia.
“It’s a confrontation between the civilised world and those who think it is acceptable to use chemical weapons in the 21st century,” he said.
Dr Gorka rejected suggestions that President Trump had been working closely with Russia to fight ISIS in the region.
“Russia is there to exploit instability. It’s there to sell weapons, it’s there to prop up a dictatorial regime,” he said.
Dr Gorka said every significant policy decision made by President Trump had been “bad for Vladimir Putin and his kleptocracy”.
He listed the arming of the Ukrainian Government, the military build-up within the United States and getting NATO to agree to meet its own defence spending requirements all put pressure on Russia.
“None of these things are good for Vladimir Putin,” he said.
