Protection needed for indigenous kids
AN indigenous leader who campaigns for the protection of children in Alice Springs from abuse and neglect told Miranda Live the number one problem in her community is family violence.
The abuse and neglect of aboriginal children in the Northern Territory is ‘critical’, according to a vocal indigenous leader.
Jacinta Price is an Alice Springs councillor who campaigns for the protection of children in her local community — an issue highlighted by a Daily Telegraph investigation on Monday.

“This is about modern day survival”, she told Miranda Live.
Ms Price will run as the Liberal candidate at the next federal election for the seat of Lingiari — held by Labor’s Warren Snowdon.
She is critical of the MP, telling Miranda Live host Miranda Devine Mr Snowdon is dangerously quiet on the topic.
“There are adults in the community who don’t understand the extent of the abuse”, she said.
“The situation is critical … and education is needed.”
