LAUNDY TO FRIEND TURNBULL: SHUT UP

When even Craig Laundy says he should shut up, you know Malcolm Turnbull really is poison: "Malcolm Turnbull’s closest confidant in parliament, Craig Laundy, has urged the former prime minister to stay out of the spotlight, warning he is damaging his legacy with ill-judged public comments." UPDATE: Even Niki Savva has had enough!

When even Craig Laundy says he should shut up, you know Malcolm Turnbull  has made himself too toxic even for the Liberal Left:

Malcolm Turnbull’s closest confidant in parliament, Craig Laundy, has urged the former prime minister to stay out of the spotlight, warning he is damaging his legacy with ill-judged public comments.

The Australian can reveal the NSW Liberal backbencher has spoken to Mr Turnbull in recent days, suggesting, as a friend, that he refrain from further public interventions on factional and policy issues.

UPDATE

Even Niki Savva, Turnbull's biggest media booster, has had enough:

Morrison’s patience with him has not worn thin, it has worn out... Turnbull should not have intervened to ask the state executive to deny the Prime Minister’s request, while dumping on Morrison along the way by accusing him of delaying the election so he could keep his arse on C1 (the prime ministerial car)... His conversation was bound to leak, making him look and sound vengeful...

The reserves of goodwill towards him are running dangerously low. There is palpable anger towards Turnbull, not only among his enemies in the parliamentary party — his friends, too, are exasperated. Turnbull is damaging himself and the government. And for that reason alone, if no other, he needs to stop.

Of course, Niki being Niki, her column has to include lots of venom for Tony Abbott, but I suspect even she now realises which has been the truly destructive.
