A RAAF hornet aircraft has flown over Surfers Paradise and Currumbin in commemoration of the ANZAC centenary this morning.

A RAAF hornet aircraft has flown over Surfers Paradise and Currumbin in commemoration of the ANZAC centenary this morning.

The F/A-18F aircraft from Number 82 Wing travelled 500ft above built-up areas across Queensland to remember 100 years since Australia’s Gallipoli campaign.

Surfers Paradise residents spotted the aircraft at 10.10am while it flew over Currumbin at 10.15am.

“From 2014 until 2018 — Australians’ experience of war and conflict — will receive significant national attention,” a Defence spokesman said.
