Missing woman's family pleas for answers

Words: Carlie WalkerProducer: Simone Kealy

After almost nine years and a coronial inquest, the family of a missing Hervey Bay woman are still searching for answers on her disappearance.

Monique, then 24, went missing on June 22, 2013, after promising her mother, Sheena, she would soon return home following a trip to Brisbane.

The last time Monique was seen was at Hugh Muntz Park by a Beenleigh shopping centre security guard.

It's a pain you never stop feeling.

A car crash left her in constant pain and she developed a drug addiction.

Although always smiling in photos, Monique's life wasn't always joyful.

She was often in and out of court and in trouble with local police.

It took two days to actually file Monique's missing person report. It was pushed aside like she wasn't important.

Regarding questions about concerns raised by the inquest and Monique's family, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said the "Queensland Police Homicide Group are undertaking a review of the recommendations."

Police, who were searching for Monique's body in the park she was last seen at, initially believed her death was drug overdose related.

Accusations suggested Monique's body had been placed in luggage, according to the coroner's report.

A witness — later labelled as "unreliable" — said she saw Daniel Murphy took a "purple suitcase and a bag containing female clothing out into the bush."

Deputy State Coroner Jane Bentley was critical of police investigations, stating officers  failed to get Ms Clubb's movements, despite CCTV footage being available.

Minnie is calling for police to offer a reward to find out what happened to Monique and bring her home.

New information and leads are vital to a case being solved.

"QPS has a case to investigate which they failed to do properly," Minnie said.

The ongoing impact of Monique's disappearance is one of the hardest things for the family to talk about as "(it's) generation trauma we can't kick."
