Townsville woman stabbed by stranger outside home
A manhunt is under way after a 29-year-old woman was stabbed in her own backyard in a random attack after she went to investigate a noise outside her bedroom.

A TOWNSVILLE woman is in hospital after she was stabbed just outside her home early this morning.
The 29-year-old Thuringowa woman was sleeping when she was woken by a noise outside her Adler Close home at about 1.15am.
She got up to go check on the noise, which was coming from the courtyard just outside her bedroom.
As she stepped outside, she was stabbed in the right side of her chest by a man unknown to her.
The man, described as 185cm tall with a slim build, then fled the scene.
The 29-year-old woman was transported to the Townsville Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The man is also described to have a dark complexion, and was wearing a hooded jumper at the time of the attack.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information or dashcam vision of the area around the time to contact them.
The incident comes after a Mundingburra dad was threatened with a gun by a group of youths who were trying to steal his car on Thursday morning.
Investigations are continuing.
