Shots allegedly fired at police from stolen car

Officers chasing a stolen car in Brisbane’s south overnight were allegedly shot at by the driver.

A man has been arrested on a roof in Logan overnight after he allegedly shot at police while driving a stolen car.

Police will allege that around 9pm Saturday, officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the Beenleigh area.

The driver allegedly did not stop and a short time later, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device but the driver sped away.

Police vehicles and the Polair chopper were following the stolen car when the driver began driving towards police and allegedly shot at police while on Plantain Road in Shailer Park.

Minutes later the car was located on Thistlerow St and a man was found on the roof of a house.

He was arrested and is expected to face a number of charges. The man remained in police custody this morning but was not yet charged.
