Police have recovered a pump-action shotgun and drugs from a car stopped at a border checkpoint on the Gold Coast.
It’s alleged police intercepted the car at Tugan about 8.45pm on Wednesday and discovered a modified pump-action shotgun, ammunition and drugs, including amphetamine and cannabis, inside a bag in the boot of the vehicle.
A 24-year-old Waterford man was charged with multiple offences, including one count of offence in relation to unauthorised and prohibited explosives, bringing stolen goods into Queensland and forgery.
While a 23-year-old Lismore woman was charged with two counts of possessing a dangerous drug.
The man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 19 while the woman will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 21.
Investigations are continuing.
