A piece of clothing and a water bottle is all that was left behind at the scene of a stabbing last night where a young man was killed.

Police have set up a crime scene at a skate park on the corner of Mcilwraith and Davidson Sts, and another separate scene around a foot path near a building across the road.

The skate park is one of multiple known drinking hangouts, according to locals.

Multiple police were guarding the scenes this morning, with just a water bottle and piece of clothing the only signs of possible evidence.

According to police, the group of people were known to each other.

This morning, member for Hinchinbrook in Ingham offered his condolences to victim’s loved ones.

“On behalf of Hinchinbrook, I wish to offer my deepest condolences to the family of the young man whose life was taken after an incident last night in Ingham,” MP Nick Dametto said in a statement.

“While the exact details of this tragedy are yet to be determined, I know police are doing everything within their power to ensure the person responsible for this horrific crime is brought to justice.”
