A man is in a critical condition and a woman has serious stab wounds to her back and face after a horrific domestic violence on the Sunshine Coast overnight.
Critical care paramedics, doctors and police attended an address at Cootharaba near Noosa after midnight to reports of multiple stabbing victims.
The incident, now under police investigation, left one woman in a serious condition with stab wounds and lacerations to her back and face, while a man suffered significant injuries to his stomach and chest area and remains critical.
Both victims were taken separately to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with critical care paramedics on board.
A third man, also believed to be involved in the incident, was taken to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
A police spokesman today said investigations remain ongoing, after a crime scene was declared around 1.30am.
“Police were called to a Cootharaba address just after midnight following a serious assault,” a Queensland Police spokesman told The Courier-Mail.
“Upon arrival, a man was located shortly inside a residence with significant wounds to his stomach.
“A woman was located at a residence shortly afterwards with non-life threatening wounds to her back.
“It’s understood this incident is a domestic violence matter.”
