Police have charged a man with attempted murder and stalking after a woman was stabbed in the neck in Hervey Bay on Thursday morning.
Police were called to a disturbance at a home on Lindeman Court in Kawungan at 6am where they found the 49-year-old woman in a serious condition with lacerations to her neck.
The 57-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was found at 6:30pm Friday evening, walking the streets of Hervey Bay.
The woman was rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital for urgent treatment, she is in a serious but stable condition.
The Hervey Bay man has been charged with one count each of attempted murder, stalking and break and enter dwelling.
He will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 8.
