More than 140 people have been arrested on 663 charges after a six-month police operation targeting drug traffickers has dismantled a distribution network in the Lockyer Valley.
Police seized amphetamines, cannabis and four firearms as a part of Operation Greenstone which commenced in July.
A number of search warrants were executed, with two men and a woman charged with drug offences after about $29,000 worth of amphetamines was found allegedly in their possession, as well as cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
The two Laidley men, aged 56 and 27, and the Gatton woman, 37, appeared in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 14, court proceedings are continuing.
With 144 people arrested in the operation, 14 were charged with producing dangerous drugs and 23 with weapon offences.
Detective Acting Sergeant Tim Roberts said during the past 30 days additional staff assisting the operation charged 109 people with 424 offences.
“The success of Operation Greenstone has resulted not only in dismantling a local drug distribution network but also allows police to solve property offences committed in the area and reunite owners with stolen property,” he said.
“The operation will continue into 2021 and members of the community are reminded that information can be supplied anonymously through crime stoppers and such support from the community is vital for these results to continue.”
