Meth, gunshot shells and firearms allegedly found in Logan home

Police have seized multiple homemade firearms, drugs and drug utensils during a raid on a Logan home. Two men have been arrested and charged.

TWO men have been charged with multiple firearm and drug offences after police raided a Logan home yesterday morning.

Logan District’s Major investigators and Organised Crime squad raided the Marsden suburb home at about 8.30am yesterday, allegedly seizing a number of homemade firearms, firearm parts, ammunition and drugs.

The Homestead Street residence allegedly contained three firearms constructed with steel pipe loaded with shot gun ammunition, alongside shot gun shells and methylamphetamine.

There were also drug utensils and multiple firearm components found.

A 28-year-old Marsden man has been charged with offences including two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of authority required to possess explosives and contravention of domestic violence order.

A 27-year-old Woodridge man has also been charged, with offences including two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of possess utensils and authority required to possess explosives.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brooke Williams said people who become involved with illegal firearms can expect intense police scrutiny.

“We will continue to target those who allegedly use and manufacture illegal firearms, which are used to cause harm and generate fear in the community,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Williams said.

“Their actions pose a significant risk to the safety of others, and they risk significant prison time if convicted of these serious offences”.

The Marsden man is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today while the Woodridge man is expected to appear on August 19.

Police investigations are continuing.
