An elderly man has died and two people have been injured after a collision on the Bruce Highway on Monday afternoon.
Initial police investigations suggest that just before 4.30pm a man was travelling south on the highway at Booyal, west of Childers when his Ford Falcon and a Toyota Land Cruiser collided head-on.
The North Isis man, 81, died at the scene.
A 45-year-old woman was flown by the Bundaberg Lifeflight Rescue helicopter to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A 16-year-old girl was also injured in the crash, and was taken to hospital by road for non-life threatening injuries.
