Man critical after alleged late night assault
A man has been charged following the alleged serious assault on the Sunshine Coast of a 50-year-old man left fighting for life.

A man has been charged following the alleged serious assault on the Sunshine Coast of a 50-year-old man left fighting for life.
Police allege the 51-year-old Kuluin man was found with serious head injuries on Main Road in Maroochydore around 1.25am on Saturday.
Initial investigations suggest the man was punched in the face before falling backwards and landing on the ground.
He was initially taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition before being transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital on Saturday, where he remained on Sunday in a critical condition.
Police have charged a 31-year-old Maroochydore man with grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils.
He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in or left the Maroochydore Hotel around 1am to come forward.
Detectives are also requesting dashcam footage from anyone travelling along Main Road between 12am and 2am on Saturday.
