Man charged over early-morning shooting at Collinsville
A man has been charged after an alleged shooting that left a 29-year-old man in a critical condition in the state’s north.

A MAN has been charged after an alleged shooting in north Queensland early this morning.
A verbal argument allegedly started when three men arrived at a 26-year-old man’s house on Bowen Developmental Rd, Collinsville, about 12.30am.
The resident allegedly walked back inside his home and retrieved a firearm before shooting one of the three men in the stomach.
The injured 29-year-old was helped into a vehicle by one of the other men with him and was taken to Collinsville Hospital.
He was then flown to Townsville Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A 26-year-old Collinsville man was later taken into police custody before being charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, receiving tainted property (firearm), unlawful possession of weapon – used to commit indictable offence, possession of dangerous drugs (cannabis) and possession of drug utensils.
He is due to appear at Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday, June 1.
