MacCallum was first charged with drug possession, after CCC detectives raided his Burleigh Heads unit on July 6 and allegedly found a small quantity of cocaine.

The new charge, laid soon after he appeared in Richlands Magistrates Court on the July 6 charge, alleges he was also in possession of cocaine on May 18.

Both charges were mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court today and MacCallum had to sign fresh bail documents for the latest charge.

Both charges were adjourned to be mentioned in the Brisbane court on September 28.

“I’ve been treated fairly and respectfully by the CCC and I’m happy that matters are progressing that way,” MacCallum said, while leaving court.

The CCC has been investigating MacCallum’s well-known Southport-based law firm Moloney MacCallum Abdelshahied Lawyers for months.

He has represented a number of high-profile clients, including double murderer Lionel Patea, alleged Mongols bikie Harley Barbaro, charged with breaching consorting laws, his brother Ricardo Barbaro, who is on a murder charge and professional rugby league players.
