Police have charged four teenage girls who allegedly filmed themselves attacking and robbing another child in broad daylight at the bus station of one of Brisbane’s busiest shopping centres.
Four girls, aged between 13 and 15, have been charged with armed robbery and are due to appear in Brisbane Children's Court this month, police have confirmed.
The charges come after the girl’s devastated mother claimed her teenage daughter was punched repeatedly in the head, had her hair pulled and her clothes torn in front of horrified onlookers on Monday afternoon.

The alleged attack happened at the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre bus station.
The mother also alleged the ordeal was filmed by one of the youths and posted to social media.
“My teenage daughter was about to catch a bus yesterday afternoon and right in front of everyone, she was harassed, assaulted and robbed by a bunch of teenage girls local to the area,” the mother wrote on a Facebook community group, in a bid to warn other parents.
“Finally one kind lady intervened (she was abused) and called the police. However not before my daughter was punched in the head several times, her hair pulled hard and her clothes torn.
“One of the girls actually filmed it and put it on social media. The main assaulter went on to snatch some shopping off another girl afterwards.”
The woman’s post on social media has seen several others tell a similar story about a gang of girls in the area.
The woman also said she saw a girl following her when she arrived at the bus station to tend to her daughter.
“Coincidently, when I arrived, it was evening, and I parked my car in a dark, quiet street near the bus station,” she wrote.
“When I got out and was walking to the bus station, a girl started following me. I had a biggish bag, and I felt uneasy.
“I turned around and stared her down. She called out to some others to come but then ran off. Be careful if in this area.”
Indooroopilly Shopping Centre General Manager, Steven Ihm released a statement to The Courier-Mail on Tuesday, saying police were notified by a witness at the scene.
“At approximately 5:30pm yesterday, unfortunately an incident occurred at the bus stop adjacent to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre on Musgrave Rd, which resulted in a member of the public being assaulted by a group of youths,” Mr Ihm said.
“The police were notified by a witness and attended the scene.
