AN EXTINCTION Rebellion protester who glued himself to the bar table inside a busy Brisbane Courthouse has been charged with contempt of court.
Marcus Anthony Burke faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning after police alleged he impersonated a State Emergency Services (SES) officer during a protest last year.
Extinction Rebellion members claim Burke is a volunteer member of the SES and was wearing his uniform during a protest.
During his court appearance he glued himself to the bench and had to be unstuck by police.
He was charged with contempt of court over the stunt which delayed the busy call-over hearings for hours on Wednesday.
He has been granted bail until his next appearance on March 26 and was greeted outside the courthouse by fellow serial protestor Emma Dorge.
