An investigation has been launched after a Queensland police officer was charged with computer hacking and stood down from official duty within the Service.

A POLICE officer, who has been charged with computer hacking, has been stood down from official duty following allegations he inappropriately accessed confidential information.
The senior constable, who is from the Central Region, was today told he is to perform non-operational duties as an investigation is launched to look into the allegations.
The man has also been issued a notice to appear in the Moranbah Magistrates Court on 24 September over one offence of computer hacking.
The Queensland Police Service have a commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability.
In a statement, the Service said: “We have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
