A far north Queensland bar has been fined thousands after police became aware of large gatherings and the venue not following social distancing practices.
Cairns police and members of Tropical Public Health Services investigated a Grafton St address after the issue of public distancing on October 9 came to light.
Police will allege the bar failed to comply with the Chief Health Officer directions, as large groups were allowed to gather and safe social distancing practices were not enforced.
The owners of the business were fined $6,672 for the incident.
