A man who allegedly hid guns, drugs, knuckledusters and tens of thousands of dollars inside a compartment at his house has proved to be no match for cops, who uncovered the items in a well-hidden nook in the home. SEE THE VIDEO

Man charged following weapons, drugs discovery

A brazen alleged criminal was no match for these clever cops, who allegedly found drugs, guns and cash inside a sneaky hidden compartment at his Central Queensland home.

Officer’s from Queensland Police Service’s Tactical Crime Squad last week found two sawn off shotguns, five shotgun rounds, a set of knuckledusters, 29 grams of methylamphetamine and small quantities of methylenedioxymethamphetamine and oxycodone allegedly during a search of a Frenchville home.

Police located the alleged contraband after they pulled back the carpet on the top step of the two-storey home, uncovering a hidden compartment.

Police allege they also found $24,000 in cash at the home.

A 20-year-old Frenchville man has been charged with over 10 offences, including multiple charges relating to the unlawful possession of weapons, one count of authority required to possess explosives, and multiple drug possession related offences.

The man is further charged with possessing utensils or pipes that had been used, one count of possess tainted property, one count of possessing property suspected of being used in the connection with the commission of a drug offence and one count of contravening order about information necessary to access shared information electronically.

He is next due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 13.
