A luxury Gold Coast health spa has been extensively damaged in a fire overnight which investigators are treating at suspicious. It took more than an hour for the fire to be brought under control, with neighbouring businesses also damaged.

A fire has torn through a health spa on the Gold Coast overnight, with police investigators treating the blaze as suspicious.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews, police and ambulance arrived at Body Cleanse Studio at Mermaid Beach just before 4am after reports of smoke coming from the premises.
The fire spread to adjoining businesses before it was extinguished about 5.20am.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and will be back at the scene this morning to investigate further.
