Two alleged bikies have been charged with consorting and drug offences after a group of men, believed to be Comanchero bikies, were seen gathering together in Brisbane.
In an ongoing operation to identify and disrupt outlaw motorcycle gangs from consorting, the State Crime Command’s Taskforce Maxima officers attended a James St venue where they saw a group of six men together.
The officers recognised the group, which are alleged to be known members of Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).
Each was issued with a consorting notice and two were charged with possessing dangerous drugs.
The charged men, aged 34 and 31, will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 24.
Detective Acting Superintendent Craig McGrath, of the Organised Crime Gangs Group, said Taskforce Maxima continued to work throughout COVID-19 restrictions.
“Members of criminal gangs who consort together will not be tolerated, so as restrictions ease, our specialist investigators will continue working with local police checking on licensed premises throughout the state, including on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane to deter and disrupt offending,” he said.
Consorting notices mean that members of declared criminal organisations were not allowed to associate or keep company.
