Police officers were forced to storm into a Gold Coast pet store to save a litter of puppies as a motorbike shop next door was destroyed in a suspicious blaze.
Footage from Queensland Police Service body cameras shows the moment the pups were pulled one by one from the Nerang pet store, as the fire from the adjoining building inched closer.
The blaze tore through Gold Coast motorcycle store Ultimate Motorbikes KTM, Indian & Polaris just before 6pm Sunday.
Police have declared a crime scene and are treating the fire as suspicious.
Eight fire crews battled the blaze, which was extinguished about 9.45pm.
The circumstances of how it started remain under investigation by police detectives, who this morning took over the investigation from the Queensland Fire Investigation Unit.
No one was injured.
