A man linked to the death of a police officer’s teenage daughter 15 years ago is today voluntarily assisting police with their investigations into a woman’s reported stabbing death overnight.

The woman, whose body was discovered by police about 8.20pm on Monday, has since been identified as Angela Silk.

The two events are not linked, but occurred in the same home on Wishart Rd, Upper Mount Gravatt owned by Alex O’Sachy.

This is the fourth death O’Sachy has been linked to.

He has never been charged with murder.

Three other deaths that occurred over the past 10 years also have links to O’Sachy, including the death of 14-year-old Andrew Scott Anderson who shot himself in the head in 2005 while on the phone to his father.

On September 7, 2006 15-year-old Leanne Thompson was found dead in the same Mt Gravatt house as a result of a hanging in which the coroner found it was ”likely she had taken her own life”.

Then, in September 2011, O’Sachy’s then girlfriend died in a different home she shared with O’Sachy after she took a drug overdose.

Mr O’Sachy has never been charged over these deaths and his links to the deceased are set out in various coroner’s reports.

In another separate matter, in 2009, O’Sachy pleaded guilty to stabbing and assaulting another woman, Lisa Palmos. Court records show he was sentenced to 12 months jail – wholly suspended – for the charge of unlawful wounding and six months jail – also wholly suspended – for the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Police were at 8.20pm on Monday called to the house where Ms Silk, 45, had suffered critical stab wounds and died.

Ms Silk had recently contacted a Facebook page run by the mother of Leanne Thompson using an account “Angela Blow”.

In 2016, Di Thompson posted that she was looking into the circumstances of her daughter’s death and wanted to hear from anyone who might have information about Mr O’Sachy.

“If you have any information, no matter how trivial, please message me,” she wrote.

Ms Blow appeared to have stumbled upon the post 10 weeks ago and made contact.

Mrs Thompson responded: “Hi Angela. I have a lot of information. Feel free to message me.”

Ms Blow replied that she saw no harm in speaking to her but couldn’t speak on the phone.

“I am still a bit bewildered …” she wrote.

“So please if you don’t mind … yes please … I need to talk to you. At the moment I can text only. Please and thankyou.”

Angela’s brother Tony told The Courier-Mail his sister had led a “troubled” life but had recently taken steps to turn things around.

“She is my little sister and I love her,” he said.

“She has had a troubled life, but recently reconnected with family and was on the mend.

“I only wish she would have come up to me in the Northern Territory last year as she wanted to.

“RIP my little sister.”

On September 7, 2006 - 15 years ago today - 15-year-old Leanne Thompson was found dead in the same house as a result of a hanging.

A coroner later found that her death occurred while she was engaged in a high risk lifestyle with her older, drug-dealing boyfriend Alex O’Sachy.

O’Sachy is today voluntarily talking with police in relation to the death of Ms Silk on Monday night.

O’Sachy served six months in jail for unlawful carnal knowledge of Miss Thompson.

He was later given an additional six months’ jail for contempt of court after he refused to answer the coroner’s questions about Leanne’s death.

Property records show that O’Sachy still owns the property where both deaths occurred.

Queensland Police Service Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said the address had been known to the police for several years.

“There is some history at that address over the years but whether it involves these people remains to be determined … but that address is known to police,” he said.

“There are some things in years passed that don’t appear to be relevant to this investigation.”

Det Supt Fleming said a man - O’Sachy - was voluntarily assisting police, however he was free to go about his business today.

He said it was crucial police kept an open mind to determine the cause of the woman’s death.

“It’s really important that we remain objective,” he said.

“In all our investigations we can see, suspect we can even believe something. But if we can’t prove it then that’s where it goes.

“However the starting point at the moment is we have someone who died. It’s unexplained, it’s suspicious we need to know how that happened. And if someone is responsible for that we’re very keen to hold them to account and put them before a court … but it is purely on the facts of what we can prove.”

Det Supt Fleming said although police were suspicious of the circumstances in which the woman died, police had not yet completely ruled out the potential the woman died of self inflicted injuries.

A neighbour the The Courier-Mail that police had been called to the scene of the crime a couple of days ago.

She said she was shaken up by the incident as the “screams would get really loud at times”.

“I often see the woman outside screaming and shouting”

“I haven’t seen any children at the property but there’s a young guy I always see there who is probably in his early 20s”

A body was taken from the crime scene just after 7am Tuesday.

Forensic officers were at the property early this morning and could be seen combing the property and inspecting household items on the front lawn.

A local resident said he heard sirens last night but only realised this morning when he walked to his bus stop how serious the incident was.

“We just saw the lights flashing and all the sirens but there is an ambulance station on the corner so that can be quite normal,” he said.

Two local residents who were out walking this morning said they were shocked to hear of the woman’s death.

“It’s a bit too close to home,” one woman said.

“It’s sad, you wouldn’t expect anything like this to happen.

Following Ms Thompson’s death, O’Sachy’s former girlfriend Lisa Palmos provided evidence to police.

Published in the State Coroner’s inquest findings into Ms Thompson’s death, it was revealed that Ms Palmos claimed O’Sachy told her about his conversation with Ms Thompson before her hanging death.

“In one of her statements Alex’s former girlfriend Lisa Palmos told police that Alex told her he would tell Leanne to go and kill herself all the time,” the inquest findings revealed.

“In one conversation they had in November 2008 Alex said to her “I know I told Leanne to go and knock herself and that I wouldn’t be far behind her but I didn’t mean her to go and do anything.”

After the inquest into Ms Thompson’s hanging death, her father Damian Rockett, a then Queensland Police Sergeant aired concerns for the next woman to associate with O’Sachy.

“I know Alex O’Sachy,” Mr Rockett told media, before adding “I just feel sorry for the next woman that he associates with.”

O’Sachy was also friends with 14-year-old Andrew Scott Anderson who shot himself in the head while on the phone to his father on July 25, 2005.

The day before he was fatally shot he was drinking and doing drugs at O’Sachy’s home, according to the inquest findings.

“Alex O’Sachy was in jail when evidence was taken for the inquest,” the inquest into the teen, held by deputy State Coroner Chris Clements, said.

“He was completely unhelpful and obstructive in withholding information from the inquest.

“I reject his assertion he has lost his memory about Andrew and the events of the night prior to Andrew shooting himself. He acknowledged, reluctantly, he knew both Andrew and (the boy’s father) Scott Anderson. He denied supplying drugs or involvement with guns.”

The coroner also said: “It is not known whether Alex O’Sachy was in fact present when Andrew discharged the hand gun nor is it known where Andrew obtained ammunition.”

Andrew Anderson, 14, died in July 2005 with an inquest held in March 2009.

In September 2009, O’Sachy faced a Supreme Court trial, charged with aiding in Leanne’s suicide.

The jury could not reach a verdict and the charge was dropped.

Then, in September 2011, O’Sachy’s then-girlfriend Lauren Howarth died in the home she shared with O’Sachy, in what was ruled a drug overdose.

According to non-inquest findings released by the State Coroner, O’Sachy was present at the time of his then girlfriend, Ms Howarth’s death.

Despite Ms Howarth’s mother raising concerns to the coroner that she believed O’Sachy was in somehow related to her daughter’s death, the coroner ruled Ms Howarth’s death was purely the result of an overdose.

“During the course of the coronial investigation, (Ms Howarth’s) mother has raised a number of concerns regarding the circumstances of her daughter’s death,” the non-inquest findings state.

“Essentially, she asserts that Alex O’Sachy was abusive towards (Ms Howarth) and was responsible for her intravenous drug use.

“She is of the view that Alex O’Sachy may have assisted in her daughter’s death.”

The coroner’s conclusion however, stated that after considering all evidence from an extensive police investigation, they were satisfied the cause of death was an overdose.

“I am satisfied that shortly prior to (Ms Howarth’s) death, she was with Alex O’Sachy at their residence and they were each injecting themselves with drugs which included Fentanyl.

At some point, (Ms Howarth) has become unconscious on the floor and has then died. At some point, Alex O’Sachy has placed a towel under her head and covered her partially with a blanket. Upon realising (Ms Howarth) was deceased, Alex O’Sachy has fled the residence.

At 7.57am, he called Triple 0 seeking assistance for (Ms O’Sachy) from a phone-box near the Manly Railway Station.”

The coroner stated that although O’Sachy was clearly in a relationship that was “violent and volatile, there is no basis to reasonably suspect that he or anyone else played any part in her death.”

According to police records, there were three reported instances of domestic violence between O’Sachy and Ms Howarth dating between March 15 to August 14 2011.

A court order was granted in relation to one of the alleged instances.
