One of five people charged over the death of Brisbane mother Megan Kirley has pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter.
Emma Louise Hinds, 44, was one of five people charged with the murder of Ms Kirley, who died from a gunshot wound to the head at her Karawatha home in 2019.
Hinds, who is on bail, pleaded not guilty to murder during a brief appearance in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday.
Prosecutors instead accepted a plea of guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Ms Kirley, 40, was found dead at the rural property in Brisbane’s south in February 2019 after what police allege to be an attempted robbery gone wrong.
On the night of her death, Ms Kirley’s boyfriend made a frantic triple-0 call at about 3am but she died before police and paramedics arrived at the scene.
Ipswich man Kobi Daniel Oram, 21, Cameron Lindsay Witoko, from Slacks Creek, 28, Emma Louise Hinds, 42, from Kingston, and Geoffrey Dale Granz Glenn, 32, from Runcorn, were each charged with murder and manslaughter over Ms Kirley’s death.
Court documents allege the accused men Oram and Witoko were armed with machetes while Hinds allegedly had a taser on the night of the attempted armed robbery.
According to court documents, the men had attempted to rob Ms Kirley’s boyfriend and were armed with “offensive instruments.”
Hinds was allowed to continue on strict bail conditions including that she wear a tracking device and report to police seven days a week.
She will be sentenced in April.
