A woman has been charged after she allegedly headbutted a police officer in a wild brawl in Brisbane early Sunday morning.

A woman has been charged after she allegedly headbutted a police officer during a wild brawl in Brisbane's party strip early Sunday morning.

The brawl happened outside Fortitude Valley train station about 2.30am, with police called to break it up.

Police told The Courier-Mail a woman began interfering with officers and was warned not to obstruct police.

She then allegedly headbutted a male senior constable, causing his nose to bleed.

It is understood he was not taken to hospital for his injuries.

Footage that has emerged from the aftermath of the brawl shows multiple officers attempting to defuse the disturbance, with one woman lying on the floor with her hands behind her back.

A 34-year-old woman was charged with one count each of obstructing police and serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm.

She is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 23.

Police investigations are ongoing.
