A young mum ambushed in her home by a group of armed men has revealed how she bravely fought one off with a can of fly spray which erupted into a ball of flames in the attacker’s face.

Wishart resident, Tiffany, 21, has been left “traumatised” by the ordeal on Tuesday night, saying she feared for her life as a masked man with a taser approached the room where her two sons were sleeping.

“I warned him multiple times to get out of my house,” Tiffany said.

“I thought the only thing that could happen is that I’m going to get shot in the side or tasered.”

The terrifying incident was sparked from a car crash opposite Tiffany’s Newnham Rd house on Monday where a handgun was dumped in bushes just metres from her property.

A neighbour’s fence had been destroyed in the crash, who told The Courier-Mail it was lucky the vehicle didn’t plough into her house.

Police found a semiautomatic pistol dumped after the crash, but the two men allegedly responsible were convinced Tiffany had taken it for herself after being spun a story from a person at the scene.

“It never happened. They were told I saw the gun and I talked to police.”

A few hours later, Tiffany said one of the men came to her house to confront her.

She thought it was over, but about 9pm on Tuesday three men forced their way into her house armed with batons, knives and a shortened firearm.

“They came in the front door and the back door, three of them, all in their 20s.

“They were yelling at us, ‘give us our gun back, we know you have it, where’s our f---ing gun’.

“The main guy came upstairs with a taser and I was like, ‘get the f--- out, I have a newborn, get out of my house’.”

Tiffany’s one-month-old son and two-year-old toddler were in her bedroom on the second storey of the house.

After warning him multiple times, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

“I thought I could push him down the stairs, but then I saw the can of spray.

“I sprayed him in the eyes and he clicked the taser at the same time and it went up in flames.

“I then had a 1.5m flame on me and pushed him down the stairs.

“One of them now has a really burnt face.”

The three men fled but have not been arrested.

Police were back at Tiffany’s house on Wednesday morning searching long grass and nearby bushes for any more evidence.

Tiffany said she hadn’t slept since the men were in her house.

“Imagine if no one else was here and it was just me and the babies.

“I’m pretty traumatised from it all.”

Tiffany, who has lived in the house for about a year, said she didn’t plan on staying there any longer.

Neighbours said they heard the commotion, and saw men running from Tiffany’s house, but couldn’t make out who they were.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen either incident on October 31 or November 1, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them.
