Wilston break and enter

CCTV footage from 19 security cameras surrounding an inner city Brisbane home has captured the moment three juveniles attempted to break into the multimillion-dollar property.

Supercar enthusiast Alborz Fallah said his Wilston home had been the target of brazen thieves three times in the past 18 months – the latest about dawn on Monday.

Mr Fallah said the first incident happened in December 2020, just four days after he moved in, where the youths ransacked his home and took his Jaguar for a joy ride.

Since then, Mr Fallah has installed steel bollards in his garage, set up 19 security cameras and automated alarm systems, and been forced to store valuables inside safes.

Mr Fallah said he moved to Wilston last year thinking it was a nice suburb that was spared by the youth crime crisis gripping the state. He was wrong.

“They just keep coming. They don’t seem to care at all,” Mr Fallah said.

“This time they looked a bit older, still teenagers and under 18. But the second time one of them looked about 12.”

Mr Fallah, the founder of carexpert.com.au, said he believed one of the youths had been armed with a knife while one of the others was filming inside his home.

He said the three break-ins happened between 2am and 4am while he was asleep.

“The CCTV looks like he had a knife, you wouldn’t want to run into them, there’s no knowing what they would do with it,” he said.

Mr Fallah said the bollards cost about $5000 to install to ensure his $3m car collection was safe.

He said his neighbours across the street had also been targeted.

The break-in follows repeated youth crime raids on a blue-chip Gold Coast street that residents said had been hit eight times already this year.

Those residents, and Mr Fallah, are on the brink of hiring private security firms to combat the rising youth crime saga.

“You’d think all this security would deter them, but it keeps happening,” Mr Fallah said.

There have been 498 incidents of unlawful entries reported for the Stafford region, according to Queensland Police Service data from June 2021 to May 2022.
