Watch: Dog squad nabs teens in Brisbane sewers after alleged break-ins in up-market suburbs

Footage of a dramatic arrest in Brisbane’s sewers has been released, after police investigating a break-in in an up-market inner-city suburb followed the group underground.

Footage of a bizarre arrest has been released showing police arresting a group of teens who they allege fled to an underground drainage system after breaking into multiple homes in upmarket suburbs in inner-north Brisbane.

Three teenage boys were taken into custody after they were allegedly involved in multiple break and enters and attempted break and enters in Paddington, Auchenflower and Red Hill on Sunday and Monday.

The arrests came after police were conducting patrols around 1.30am on Monday, after a Lexus and Land Rover were reported stolen from a home on Annie Street.

The cars were tracked to Herston and a tyre deflation device was deployed. The vehicles were eventually abandoned near Northey Street at Wilston.

A 16-year-old boy from Alexandra Hills was taken into custody, while three people allegedly left on foot into parkland.

Body worn footage released by police shows officers and the dog squad running through sewers on Newmarket Road, before finding a 16-year-old Stafford boy.

A 17-year-old Stafford boy was arrested a short time later, also in the underground drainage system, near Noble Street.

The fourth person is still on the run, with investigations ongoing. Anyone with information that may be able to assist investigators is being urged to contact police.

The 16-year-old Alexandra Hills boy was charged with 11 offences including three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts each of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle use in the night in company, as well as one count each of attempted enter dwelling with intent at night, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and receiving tainted property.

He has been remanded in custody and was due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old Stafford boy was charged with eight offences including two counts each of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle use in the night in company, as well as one count each of attempted enter dwelling with intent at night, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and receiving tainted property.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court on March 17.

A 16-year-old Stafford boy remains under police guard in hospital in a stable condition.
