Three knife-wielding teenagers have been caught on camera targeting houses in Toowoomba, attempting to break in.
Footage showed the group waving their knives and a shovel in front of a South Toowoomba house Friday night before the homeowner tells them to leave through the intercom system.
“I think you better go. I’ll have to ring the police,” the homeowner said.
One of the boys continued to violently shake the entrance door, with others saying “smash the windows”, before they left empty-handed.
The teens appeared to take a picture of the house before leaving with one teenager remarking the couple had a “Volkswagen”.
The group was also seen at a house in nearby suburb Harristown earlier that night, with one of them kicking the door while holding a knife, after telling his team to “come on, let’s go”.
Police said their investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
It comes as Police Minister Dan Purdie promised to expand the laws against youth crime.
“The culture of young people carrying knives has to end,” he said.
