A group of burglars have used an electric saw and a sledge hammer to smash their way into a Logan store.

A group of burglars have used an electric saw and a sledge hammer to steal cigarettes from a Logan newsagent on Wednesday.

Masked intruders smashed the windows to make their way into newsagent The Lucky Charm Holmview around 3.40am.

Vision obtained by 7News showed the group went behind the cashier and used an electric saw to open the locked tobacco cabinet, causing sparks around.

The shelf was stripped bare as they took the stolen goods away in a paper box.

Worker Emily Turner told 7News she was sad and disappointed as the shop was a family business.

“Wish you wouldn’t do it. It takes a lot of effort and money to try and pick ourselves back up,” she said.

This came after a series of robbery targeting at tobacconists, service stations and supermarkets in Logan district two weeks ago.

Police were investigating.
