Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a tobacconist in Beenleigh after the commercial building was gutted by the blaze.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a tobacconist in Beenleigh after the commercial building was gutted by the blaze.
Seven fire crews rushed to the Uncle Billy’s Tobacconist on City Rd premises after it brought out before 4.30am. The building was well-engulfed on arrival.
Fire crews worked to contain the incident within the affected premises however adjacent structures were damaged by smoke.
The site is currently undergoing decontamination while teams conduct atmospheric testing to ensure the area poses no threat to the public.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious. Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
It comes after a man was yesterday charged after an alleged arson on Boxing Day that destroyed a Fortitude Valley store.
