An Uber Eats delivery rider made a shock discovery after making a delivery to a Gold Coast home on Monday night.

CCTV has caught the moment a man appears out of the darkness and snatches the 28-year-old Uber Eats delivery driver’s electric scooter from the front of a Broadbeach Waters home on Monday night.

Shock discovery after Uber Eats delivery

Jennifer Kennedy posted to social media the video of a man in a red hoodie taking the scooter.

“Our poor uber delivery person has his scooter stolen from the front while delivered pizzas,” Ms Kennedy said in a post to Facebook.

The alleged theft took place on Monaco street at 6.08pm.

“My partner has taken the uber delivery guy to the police station. If anyone recognises the boy in a red hoodie, please let me know asap. The guy in the screen at the beginning is the uber delivery driver.”

“It’s so sad that this happens. The poor delivery guy was devastated.”

The driver had left his scooter at the front of the house unattended for just under 30 seconds when a man in a red hooded jumper appears, with a skateboard in hand, and takes off with the black e-scooter.

The man fiddles with the scooter for a few seconds and then can be seen wheeling the scooter away.

A Queensland police spokesperson said investigations are ongoing into the alleged theft.

“The scooter was parked along Monaco street and he was delivering food when he returned his scooter was gone and made a report with police and we are investigating,” a spokesperson said.

Information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.
